The context of our project:We are teachers in a primary school, which welcomes 130 pupils spread over 5 classrooms, from year 2 to year 6 ( 5 to 12 year-olds.) We are all beginners in teaching English and we have a strong team-spirit. Our school is located in Cornebarrieu, near Toulouse, very close to the Airbus Group headquarters, which employs many people from all over Europe. This affects our school, and gives us a strong motivation to learn.The aims of our project:Our training objectives are focused on three main axes:1- To improve the language skills of every teacher,2- To improve our educational practices in the classrooms by acquiring basic tools and methods,3- To develop reference points by an immersion in the Anglo-Saxon culture.Methodology you will use to lead the project:Our entire teaching team is prepared to participate in a two-week course in England, during our school holidays. Our aim is to participate in the daily training offered by the SILC programme, which offers a structured course of lessons. The accommodation in host families will assure us of an immersion in the English language.Potential long-term advantages:To be able to develop our skills in the following ways:To develop the international accessibility of our school: eg; eTwinning projects which will enable us to set up joint projects to encourage collaboration and exchanges with schools around the world.We would like our pupils to become European citizens, curious and open to the outside world, aware that the international part of their environment must be seen as a personal, economic and cultural wealth.In our society, highly perturbed by the terrorist attacks of 2015, the exploration of a different culture opens the way to understanding and tolerance.
