REMOVING BARRIERS
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

From the beginning, we planned and presented a set of activities to develop, reconsider and understand the importance of accessibility, and to confirm the difficulties that certain young people have in relation to their mobility and some of them relating to physical disability. We wanted all young people (with or without any special needs such as those with physical disability) could enjoy the activities that were going to develop in nature, both by land (adapted trekking) , sea ( Handi-diving ) and air( Parascending ). The activities have been developed with the partner of Portugal and for 7 days with the participation of 15 portuguese participants and 13 Canarios , in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Municipalities of the island of Gran Canaria. We have tried to involve in the project to as many Municipalities and to give widespread in the local media. The main issue has been the General Social inclusion and the aim was to reflect on the problems of people with disabilities and know how difficult is being able to have access to equal opportunities for people with and without disabilities. Activities have encompassed: Organizations and social contexts; Knowledge of the participants; workshops; Exhibitions and debates; Activities in nature and without physical disabilities; adapted/assisted diving, with special equipment; Hiking with special adapted chairs; Parascending; workshops on the beach by the Spanish Red Cross; practical workshop given by the ONCE (Spanish National Organization for the Blind); Photographic exhibition published; Knowledge of Youth in Action and Erasmus + Canaria to society through interviews and reports by the media ; Evaluations.
