Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Summary: The project „ Engines seen through the eyes of students “intent on manufacturing of the „Various-purpose clamping device“ was selected as the winning project after close discussion and evaluation with the German partner school, we cooperate with. The reasons of choosing this project are described thereinafter : 1) The cooperation with the partner school began on the project called „ Steam engine“. The aim of the project was to develope and manufacture the clamping unit/clamping system for steel material which shall prevent material from being tear off by strength of the tool while is being machined. It happened very often when students needed the material to be turned aside or be inclined in position of 30° or even more. This project is about engineering and manufacturing a "Various-purpose clamping device" by students of 3th grade of the machinist . The students will have the opportunity to drawn on experience of previous study and show to the others the knowledge they l earned at school during last two years. 2) Participants in the project: The project will involved students from two different classes. Each group will consist of twelve students. The project will be executed in two stages. There will participate in this project students of 3th grade of the mechanist from our school and the partner school. The first (preliminary) stage of the project will be carried out by students at their school where they will design future solutions and prepare drawings of the single construction parts via SolidWorks software, then the students from the cooperative school will manufacture the construction parts and complete the entire device during the exchange practise. The main goal of the project: • Developing skills of the students such mechanist and machine operators by working on software controlled machines such CNC machines when using Haidenhein and Siemens software. • Developing students skills with CAD software such SolidWork usually used for construction a design of mechanical parts and drawing software Autocad. • Increasing the quality of the education • Implementation of the innovative techniques of education • Improving foreign language knowledge • Achieving comparable quality of students experience and knowledge to other EU countries • Improving students self-reliance • Improving team work • Improving students self-confidence • Improving students orientation in unknown territory • Participation in exact task will improve their experience and prepare them better for future job Methodology of the project: 1) The year 2014: a) March - elaborating the application and it's commitment b) April - waiting for conclusion c) May - project's evaluation d) June - final result, choosing candidates e) July/August - giving the homework connected with project to the students f ) September/October: - contract's negotiation with partner school - students language and technical training - elaborating of the personal profiles of students participating in residency - filling the registration form (ECAS) - signing contracts with students participating in residency - arranging transport and insurance for students participating in residency - project's controlling g) November: - deepening technical and language preparedness - preparing a technical vocabulary for students work in Germany h) December - executing the first stage of the technical study abroad. The beginning is set on 1st of December 2014 2) The year 2015: a) January/ February - deepening technical and language preparedness of the second group (self-study) b) March - deepening technical preparedness c) April - executing the second stage of the technical study abroad. The beginning is set on 13th of April 2015 - terminating the second stage of the technical study abroad by 26th of April 2015 d) May - evaluating the technical study, arranging workshop e) June - elaborating participants final reports - elaborating the final project's report Achievement: Students will become more self-confidence and will improve their foreign language knowledge. Students will master their work with CNC machines. Students will become more self-reliance and learn their orientation in unknown territory. Students will also achieve experience for their future job. Result: The model contains cross section of the subject matter and will be used as an teach aid for theoretical and technical teaching during lessons at first and second grade for the field of machinist. The experience achieved by students while they had been working on given task will be fit into curriculum for machinist. The main value of the project will show itself by improving the level of students technical study. The project will increase also interest in field such machinist and machine operators in Moravian Silesian region which is the one with the highest level of unemployment in Czech Repub
