Rehabilitating the access infrastructure for the development of the cross-border cooperation within the Giurgiu – Ruse area (R.O.A.D. GIURGIU – RUSE)

The improvement of the management of the territory and of the transport infrastructure, within the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border region, in order to assure a durable cooperation; Specific objective: Upgrading and modernisation of the transport infrastructure of the Ruse-Giurgiu Euro-region Achievements: The project Rehabiliting of the access infrastructure for the development of the cross-border cooperation within the Giurgiu – Ruse area, MIS-ETC Code 547, with a total eligible value of 7.5 mill Euro, contributed to the improvement of territorial management and of the transport infrastructure, within the Giurgiu – Ruse cross-border region, in order to ensure a sustainable cooperation.The 7.5 million euro were invested in the rehabilitation of 25.2 km of road, out of which 18.5 km of county roads (DJ 503 and DJ 503A) in Giurgiu and 6.7 km of municipal road (RSE1171 Slivo Pole - Riahovo) in Ruse district. The project led to the intensification of road traffic from Ruse and Giurgiu.
