REDAC - European Network for the Development of Traineeships in the Construction Industry

The REDAC project is designed to improve the quality of the European training process by focusing on the firm's role in training. By putting the firm at the heart of the young person's training and putting the tutor at the centre of linked work and training processes with a transnational dimension, the project will strive to improve the skill acquisition process by providing genuine support for the young person in the firm. Training of the transnational tutor and the preparation of evaluation tools and methods will lead to an improvement in training quality. The expected results are the modification/development of training practices as regards the hosting and training of trainees from partner countries. The product 'transnational training of tutors' will be a pedagogical package containing pedagogic dossiers pertaining to the transnational training of the trainee and the tutor's intercultural skills. A pedagogic booklet for instructors will describe the skills profile of the transnational tutor and the training profile. The project will be expanded to include other professional sectors such as the food sector, the hotel trade, metallurgy, and agriculture at local, regional, national and transnational level. The intermediate results of the project will be disseminated via a REDAC Internet site; the final results will be disseminated via an international forum, the Internet site and an information package.
