reCYCLE - artCYCLE - lifeCYCLE recycling, art and new technologies as tools in youth work
Start date: May 4, 2015, End date: Nov 3, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project: reCYCLE - artCYCLE - lifeCYCLE, recycling, art and new technologies as tools in youth work aims to equip youth workers and youth leaders with specific competences and methods connected to recycling, art and ICT technologies which they can further on use in their work. We want to achive this aim by organizing a training course which will last for 7 working days. It will take place in Jicin (Czech Republic) in last week of May 2015. Project idea was born as a follow up of variety of cultural and educational activities organized by o.p.s. Valdstejnska Lodzie - kulturni imaginarium. Cooperation with educators, artists, performers, activists motivated us to work with topic of sustainable development, in particularly to work with recycling in connection to art. We believe that it is possible to give "second life to things", and it can be wonderful tool for awaking imagination and creativity in young people. It can as well help them to discover and realize more about themselves. During the training we will use methods of non formal education in particular: teambuilding activities, getting to know each other games, different forms of discussions, with storytelling and legends, with practical workshops on recycling and on ICT tools. Participants will as well have chance to try out in practice new gained methods and competences during local event: festival "for small and big kids". Evaluation of participants contribution during the festival will be the final learning reflection, thanks to which participants will go back home with very practical skills. We will host 22 participants: youth workers and youth leaders from: Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Slovakia and 3 trainers from Czech Republic. We will create a short video, which will aim to inspire others to "give second life to things" through recycling, and will inspire youth workers to awake creativity and imagination in participants. Projects most important impact will be learning outcomes for its participants, but as well influence on local community of Jicin, which will happen mainly though local event: festival and through interaction with local volunteers, who will be invited to join some parts of the programme (intercultural evening, evening of inspirations with good practicies). The long term effect will be mainly the effect on target groups of our participants, on those young people whom they will help in self development process, while using new gained methods, and using new approach.
