Recursos innovadores europeos para el plan de formación de un centro bilingüe
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project that we are applying for has as overall goal to incorporate to our School training scheme measures that will allow giving an answer to different training needs by the means of exploiting resources available in the European sphere. We think this option implies a strategic innovation that should necessarily be consolidated in the long term in a School that, as is our case, has yet benefited from its involvement in European educational programs during the past years. By the time being, within the new Erasmus+ frame, we have focused in a two years long scheme of training activities related to, firstly, our need to improve teacher’s linguistic and methodological skills in the English bilingual section, which is bounded to cover all ESO levels and classes in our School from next course on. Secondly, we are planning a second course of action concerning measures to improve the overall quality of our School. These measures are being already developed by different programs and working groups (Eco School, assistance to gifted&talented students, just to mention two of the most relevant) and have to do with issues as optimizing attention to diversity, encouraging creativity in teaching learning processes or increasing students and families participation. Obviously, results expected from this second course of action will also benefit the specific bilingual area. Participants profile, consistently with the courses of action mentioned above, points to, in the first place, teachers involved in the bilingual section (Non Linguistic Subjects, both in the Scientific and Humanities fields) and, on the other hand, teachers directly involved in the quality improvement programs mentioned above, preferably management staff and/or ETCP (Pedaggogical Coordination Technical Team) members. Teachers participating in mobilities, all of them consisting in courses attendance, will be nine, according to the following program: 2015-16: Discovering Renaissance Art in Florence (1 mobility) Structured Study Visit to Schools/Institutes & Training Seminar in Finland (2 mobilities) CLIL in Dublin: Content and Language Integrated Learning (2 mobilities) 2016-17: Structured Study Visit to Schools/Institutes & Training Seminar in Iceland (2 mobilities) CLIL in Dublin: Content and Language Integrated Learning (2 mobilities) Concerning the outcomes we expect, we have to state that this project is going to contribute in a significant way to improve English language related and CLIL methodology skills among teachers in the bilingual scheme. At the same time, this will make a significant impact on the overall educational quality of IES “La Madraza”. On the other hand, we expect from direct experience with teaching and learning successful praxis, as are those represented by Finland or Iceland education systems, a long term improvement of our skills in order to foster creative and inventive measures in the context of the self assessment processes that are taking place in our School. Finally, we foresee an important widening of our contacts network that will provide potential partners for more joint European projects in the future.
