Recovered connection of optical fiber between Madeira and the Canary Islands by means of an underwater cable ring (MADECAN)

The Project MADECAN, whose previous studies are the object of approved first draft MAC/2.3/C40, will consist of the later unfolding of an underwater cable set of last technology that will form a recovered ring that will connect the islands of Great Canary, Tenerife and Madeira. This ring will be operated for services of " carrier " of long distance that will be offered to telecommunication operators. This infrastructure unfolding must like main objective palliate the isolation of both archipelagoes creating a second bridge of telecommunications to Europe, with the security that it implies and the resulting dinamización and impulse to the development of the Society of Information as much in Madeira as in the Canary Islands.
