Read Me Like A Book
Start date: May 1, 2009,

In July 2009, 33 people coming from 4 different countries, namely Malta, Turkey, Romania and Poland will be meeting for a youth exchange in Malta for 8 days. There will be 4 sending organisations coming from Turkey, Romania and Poland and each will be represented by a group of 6 young people, one of whom is the group leader. This will be hosted by the Maltese organization Moving Theatre, which will be represented by a group of 7 participants and 2 group leaders. The title of this project is 'Read me like a book' and its main themes are creativity, education and social inclusion of local young people with fewer opportunities. One of our main aims is to discover creative means of transferring knowledge and written material to the public, which will include young people with fewer opportunities. Considering that 2009 is the year of creativity and innovation, another main aim is to first offer the opportunity to young people to explore the European Union's annual prioirities of the Youth In Action Programme and then express them in an artistic way, irrespective of their nationality, gender and ability. We will be working together in smaller groups to create a showcase consisting of a number of small theatrical performances which will be presented to an audience. Such audience will also participate in an interactive gameshow, prepared by all the participants and aimed at sharing knowledge about the countries' different cultures. In order to reach these objectives, theatre workshops, role plays and simulations, a visit to the main public library, other cultural outings, as well as entertaining activities with youths coming from a challenging background, will be implemented.
