Re-Act through Art
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Mar 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Re-Act through Art” is a project for a youth exchange which will take place between 02.11.2014 and 12.11.2014 in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The participants in it will be 35 young people aged 18-30 from the UK, Estonia, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria. The main topic of the project is the consumerism in the modern society: the excessive consumption of goods, the cult towards consumption, which becomes a necessity and a habit, as one of the important social and ecological issues on global scale that often is disregarded or perceived as a normal part of every-day life. Through the methods of non-formal education: games, discussions, presentations, workshops, the participants will learn more about the topic, they will develop new skills and competences, and will be able to express their opinion on the topic in a creative and unusual way. One of the main focuses of the working methods will be the techniques of contemporary art – the installations and performances, as ways of self-expression and attraction of public attention towards important social problems. The young people will plan and realize activities on the topic in the local community, using these techniques, they will also have the opportunity to plan future similar initiatives which will be organized in their respective countries. Thus, the participants will not only learn more about the central topic of the project, but will also become multiplicators of this knowledge, involving more people in it in an original, innovative and provocative way
