Rapatac Aktivitetscenter Nordost
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Jan 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Rapatac Activity Center opened in April 2012. The center is based on a new and unique concept in Sweden. Our goal is to provide all children and teenagers from 6 to 18 years old, a place where they may grow up in a safe environment, surrounded by role models which may guide them and give the necessary tools for a solid foundation for their future life. In order to reach this goal we focus on both the importance of homework and the variety of activities that they can choose in our center. That’s why, we strongly encourage them to develop their knowledge, curiosity and creativity through the literature activity, the homework support and a range of activities. We would like to start a new European Voluntary Service project as a hosting and coordination organization and receive applications from volunteers to begin the project during 2015. At this moment Rapatac is able to host 3 volunteers at the same time. The duration of the projects will be 11 months and the frequency will be continuous. Working week description: 36 hours working week (Activities + Swedish language courses), 2 day-off every month according to the EVS regulations and also day-offs on the national holidays. The capacity of the activities at site is enough for all volunteers and they would play an important role in our organization everyday operations. We concentrate more on quality than on a quantity that is why we prefer to host as many volunteers as would be right enough for them to enjoy their service process. The main role of volunteers in Rapatac will be to provide assistance to our activity leaders in different fields that we have. They are expected to be a role-model for the youth. Rapatac is involved in: sport, culture, creativity, design, music, theatre, film, media etc. The volunteers will also get space for their own ideas and contributions, we will provide space for their self-realization. The children in the organization and the city of Gävle will have a bigger understanding of European cooperation’s and gives the children a better understanding of different cultures and languages that will help them in their future.
