The current action aims to solve specific problem of the municipalities of Alpullu and Bolyarovo - a lack of green areas and sports facilities within the town area. While previous CBC BG-TR programs and projects were focused on the development of eco and cultural tourism routs outside villages and towns the current projects focuses on building of modern recreation and sports facilities within the towns in the border area. While previous projects were focused mainly on improving the conditions for tourism development the current project focuses on the provision of access to recreation and sport facilities to the ordinary citizen of the cross-border area. By implementing the project the project partners are supported in development of cross-border football league between border municipal teams which was clearly declared as a long-term perspective of local cooperation in the November Trakia Kent Association meeting in Elhovo. Achievements: The project promoted sport activities and the provision of access for local people to sport and recreation facilities in the municipalities of Alpullu and Bolyarovo. A database of sport teams and schools with sport teams in all 8 districts of the province of Kirklareli and 2 districts of Burgas and Yambol have been developed.A Sports complex was reconstructed in Bolyarovo. The construction activities include drainage of the existing football field and other facilities, recovery of seats for spectators, reconstruction of the changing rooms and provision of access for disabled people.Within the scope of the project a sports playground and recreation area was built in Alpullu. In the sports and recreation area there is a football training field, basketball and volleyball fields, children playground, walking and jogging alleys and changing rooms.The project has been successfully accomplished in January 2013.
