In the context of the objectives of Key Action 3 "Support for policy reform", "Erasmus+" programme and the EU Strategy for Combating Radicalization and Recruitment, Sofia Security Forum offer the project entitled: "Radicalization among the young people - a new challenge for Europe". Through the project, the Forum aims to influence the youth policy and its manifestation in different sectoral policies concerning the topic of radicalism and terrorism through implementation of a structured dialogue. The main objective is young people, together with decision-makers, to seek ways based on European values - tolerance, solidarity and justice to deal with the factors creating conditions for radicalization of young people and pushing them towards negative social phenomenon called "terrorism", namely: 1) The crisis of the model of integration in European societies; 2) The problematically functioning economies and social systems; 3) The refugee wave from the Middle East and North Africa; 4) The threat of "foreign fighters".Participants in the project "Radicalization among the young people - a new challenge for Europe" will be young people aged between 18 and 24 years (130 in total). Sofia Security Forum will seek to select about 20 participants, who are disadvantaged - representatives of minority groups with low social and economic status and different religion.The project involves 5 main activities which can be divided into: *preparation; *conducting three days event (29-31 April 2016) in Sofia, Bulgaria; *dissemination of project results; *analysis of results; *preparing the final report.The methodology of the event, based on informal methods, will relate to: *the selection and adaptation of appropriate training methods being used instruments of SALTO Youth; *predispose young people to share their ideas, concerns and needs related to the focus of the project - the radicalization of young people and their incitement to terrorism; *creating a favorable environment for work; *stimulating participation and active citizenship; *stimulating strategic and critical thinking; *stimulating communication skills; *motivating and empowering young people; *strengthening the trust between institutions and their representatives in the context of youth policy; *enhancing the level of awareness of young participants in the project.On the one hand, the results of the project "Radicalization among the young people - a new challenge for Europe" will be focused to the impact that will have a project on the young people and on the other hand on those, who are responsible for youth policy, in particular those dealing with the problems of radicalization and terrorism.By participating in the structured dialogue, young people will gain knowledge, skills and attitudes that will affect their personal realization and development, active participation in civil society, social inclusion and employability, namely: *skills for expressing their mother language during the discussions; *presentation skills in front of their peers and decision-makers; *skills for dialogue - active listening, participation in discussion; *skills and attitudes for teamwork - tolerance, mutual respect; *skills to influence, enabling them to give their ideas for policies and solutions aimed at the radicalization process of young people and encourage them to terrorist acts; *knowledge of state structure - the role of the legislature and the executive; *skills for participation in democratic processes - consultation and discussion with decision-makers.The result for those, who are responsible for youth policy will be а preparation of: - a "Package of recommendations" by young people in collaboration with decision-makers, part of which will be focused on the need of: *establishing a council, implementing the integrated approach in the fight against terrorism and radicalism, as well as working with risk groups - minorities, religious communities, refugees; *comprehensive strategy on the fight against international terrorism and its prevention on the territory of Bulgaria, with a special focus on young people; *participation in collective efforts for the prevention of terrorist threats in the context of Bulgaria's membership in the EU and NATO; * implementation of the revision of the legislation with the purpose of its updating on the topic;- a Contribution to the process of preparation and adoption of Bulgarian Strategy for radicalization and terrorism' countering (2015-2025);- a Report with a summary of the results from the sociological survey, conclusions and recommendations from the event. The results will be disseminated to all Bulgarian decision-making bodies as well as to the Radicalization Awareness Network of the EU.
