R-ESISTANCE
Start date: Mar 1, 2013,

The youth exchange R-ESISTANCE Theatre for Social Inclusion and Intergenerational Learning, will be held in San Giorgio a Cremano, NA, Italy and will last 10 days. The project will host 24 participants from Italy, France, Romania and Spain. The aim of the project is to investigate the different forms of peaceful resistances in Europe in order to create a roadmap of the many ways youngsters have to intend the active citizenship. In this process, participants will reflect on the real meaning of “participation” and “civic activism” in the involved countries and will share good practices in this field. The themes of the project are art and culture as a mean to promote active citizenship and social inclusion. Art is a powerful tool to re-discover the old stories, to reveal the values rooted in the past and to make them actual in the nowadays society, it’s a bridge between the different generation that are sharing urban spaces and suburbs and can be used to involve young people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds such as some of the EU suburbs. The implementation will be organized in different workshops where participants will share their experiences and ideas on the theme of participation; they will create a roadmap of the multiple ways to intend the active citizenship and will propose concrete interventions in the different backgrounds; the roadmap implemented in the social theatre workshop, will be used to give an artistic shape to the theme of “active citizenship” and “resistance”. A study visit and a final performance will be realized and the local youngsters and inhabitants will take part in the event. An interactive methodology, based on theatre and non-formal education, will be proposed for the whole duration of the project: participants will exchange every information and knowledge horizontally, following the principle of the non formal education that promotes a peer to peer approach.
