PROJECT
FINISHED
the following text will not be a translation word by word but true in respect to the content of the planned development for teacher trainings:
Motivation: We have realised that padagocial work can be even more successful if different subject matters are combind and language teaching should also be integrated in vocational subjects. This integration of language teaching and the combination of subject matters can help reducing drop out rates and we hope to equip our students in a much more profound way for their future job life.
project aims: We aim to improve teachers' competences in this area with specific langaguage as well as padagogical courses. Teachers of language and teachers of vocational subjects can form a basis for a more integrative teaching. However, this also takes special training and this we would like to get with the help of this project. We would also like to integrate new teaching methods, such a ICT and international project work via etwinning.
Mobilities: Teachers who work in key functions because of the subjects they teach should benefit most. We also plan a longterm development for indiviual teachers and we also support modules of courses. We would like to make sure that teachers can apply their trainings.
activities: Teachers will work out lesson plans and will put them into action in their teaching environment. They will integrate new teaching methods acquired in the trainings and their will use their contacts to spread multilingual teaching. They will also integrate students with migrant backgrounds and they will be able to help multilingual students in a much more profound way. Helping especially migrant students in respect to language learning is a key issue in integration as well as in reducing drop out rates. Students with immigrant backgrounds are particularly prone to dropping out and to leaving school early. But vocational schools like ours are highly estimated by immigrant students and if we are able to give them a start they are very likely to be successful on the job market.
implementation: Teachers will apply their newly acquired skills for language learning and they will help students to get also a vocational approach to language learning and multiculturalisms. We will use our school's quality management system to learn more about the effects of this wholistic approach to language learning. We will test students and will also get feedback from our students in respect to language learining. For these feedback sessions we will use methods which are also used for instance be Schoonet - they use Surveymonkey and also etwinning bzw. QSYS.
results / longterm effects: Helping disadvantaged students with a more profound padagogical approach to language learning will improve our students' motivation and skills to finish their vocational education. It will also train basic competences such as reading, writing and communicational skills in a vocational environment. This cooperation between vocational teachers and language teachers will help our students to have higher job chances.
