Despite a meanwhile three-year-experience on all-day school the Josef-Effner-Gymnasium Dachau is at the very beginning of this subject. In the last years there had been a large number of problems in organisation and education, which are unknown at traditional bavarian or german schools. Therefore the headmaster wants to join a structured enhancement in Finland to increase his leadership. The main interest is on organisation and practice and added pedagogical value of all-day schools in Finland, a country, where all-day distribution of instruction has a long tradition. Visiting schools in finland, speaking with teachers, headmasters and representatives of educational government allows discussing organisational and educational problems of all-day schools. Pedagogical conferences and organisational meetings aim to increase the qualitiy of all-day school at Josef-Effner-Gymnasium Dachau and to enhance the students efficiency, social interaction and self-management skills. Another aspect of professional development are eventual contacts to european partner schools especially in Finland. In this way the establishing of new partnerships would be possible. Students of our school would meet students from other european countries and become acquainted with their everyday life. The european idea would be intensified and permanently fixed.
