Quadruple addresses the need to integrate a gender perspective in policies and practices for cluster and innovation promotion in the Central Baltic Region (hereinafter called CBR). Although the innovation system in CBR is considered as one of the most advanced in Europe it has weaknesses when it comes to the involvement of women. Prior cooperation among project partners has highlighted the importance of further development of non gender biased support structures in the region. The overall objective of Quadruple is to strengthen the innovation system in CBR by increased participation of women in cross-border cluster networking. Specific objectives are to design and implement models, methods and tools for gender mainstreaming in cluster promotion. to analyse and reform existing innovation policies from a gender perspective; promote cross-border clusters in the tourism sector, involving women entrepreneurs; and promote creative connections between the tourism sector and research in the field of mobile technology.In practice entrepreneurs and researchers will be involved in testing innovative mobile technology solutions for the tourism sector in CBR Achievements: Quadruple strengthened the innovation system in the Central Baltic region by increasing the participation of women in cross-border cluster networking, focusing on the tourism sector. The project designed and implemented models, methods and tools for gender mainstreaming in cluster promotion. The tourism sector, in which many women are active, was used as a pilot sector. Creative connections were made to the ICT research sector, where many men are active. In practice, entrepreneurs and researchers tested innovative mobile technology solutions for the tourism sector in the Central Baltic region. Additionally, the partners also analysed and reformed existing innovation policies from a gender perspective.
