Qtrain – Quality Assurance and Accessible Training

European and national VET policies encourage participation by disabled people in mainstream VET with the intention of opening opportunities for, and increasing the social integration of, disabled people. The Qtrain project will facilitate the delivery of a high quality service for disabled people in mainstream VET and enable their needs to be incorporated at all stages of the QU process. The project is based upon an initial model, SCIPS, and will develop QA guidance packs to support the use of the initial model and a programme of workshops and training-the trainer packs as well as a database of resources to support high quality provision for disabled people in VET. The immediate target groups for the project are teachers, trainers, designers and developers of VET programmes, policy makers and related organisations. The beneficiaries of the project will be disabled people. Expected results are: (1) training packs for teaching/training staff and QA staff, (2) online support programmes, (3) complete and alternative versions of SCIPS, (4) workshops for partners, facilitators and QA staff. Valorisation will be achieved by website development , workshops, media PR, Publications, thematic monitoring conferences, European and national steering groups and partners networks. The expected short-term impact will be to enable trainers, teachers and others involved in course planning in VET to build a high quality service for disabled people, the long-term impact will support links with related initiatives at the European level and dissemination of project outputs. The project will have an impact on all stages of the quality assurance and enhancement process for VET.
