Lassithi Plateau is an isolated municipality in Crete with a population that deals mainly with rural / farming operations . It requires a special approach to the education of students within and outside the school , that motivates learning , but also improves the risk of early school leaving .
The project includes the training of teachers from different subjects in innovative educational practices through new technologies , and training to install, configure and use e-learning platform that will be used to support teaching courses , but also to organize themselves in the local community .
Five teachers of the school are involved in this project, who speak at least English, have basic skills in the use of ICT ( A Level certification ), and prior experience in educational partnerships. They teach Greek language, French Literature , Natural Sciences and Computer Science.
There are activities for training (4 flows) and a job shadowing (1 flow) abroad . The main pillars of this project is the digital expertise and innovative teaching methods , the main objective of the strategy of our organization is the implementation , configuration and use of an e-learning platform, which will be used by undergoing training teachers in new technologies , applying innovative educational practices in the coming years .
Training Activities :
The 1st flow : a training seminar on New Technologies in foreign language education, seven days in AZURLINGU school ( France ) . The 2nd flow : training seminar innovative ways of teaching science , five days in ESA (European Space Agency) ( Netherlands )
The 3rd flow : seminar on information and expertise in planning , configuration and use of e-learning support platform , which will form the trunk and the means of implementing innovative educational practices in the coming years and will be held in the body "Alfatraining Bildungszentrum" in Karlsruhe ( Germany ).
The 4th flow : a seminar on the subject of multimedia application in an interactive environment that allows the combination of these digital courses relative interaction (computing - science - foreign language ), giving emphasis on the field of intercomprehension . The seminar will be held in Spain.
Training (educational) activities :
One flow object with on-site observation (job shadowing) in the University of Al.I. Cuza Romania on the subject of intercomprehension .
The expected results have to do with upgrading the methodology of teaching subjects, modernization and introduction of ICT across all subjects as a teaching tool ( digital content , interactivity, asynchronous access to information , remotely education) , promotion of multilingualism and enhancement of the importance of foreign languages already offered . So , the impact will be immediate for pupils . Apart from the emerging learning benefits , the objective is to help the self-organization of society through the support that will be provided by the online platform , but also eliminate the risk of early school leaving .
The combination of theoretical knowledge of the course along with the practice of all of the above and the digital automation via a platform will be the subject of a project KA2 with partner institutions in other countries
Finally , the trained teachers can act as multirliers.
