Proyecto experimental plurilingüista
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The government of the Generalitat of Catalonia established in the 2011 February Framework Agreement against school failure the lines of action to face this problem. This plan emphasized the need to implement a new model of multilingual education for the consolidation of the levels B1 and A1 in the first and second language for graduates in ESO, and A2 and B2 levels in post compulsory education. The analysis of the socio-economic situation demands greater knowledge of all languages to facilitate mobility in the European area. The need of cooperation between countries has forced the center to look for alternatives to improve the quality of our education and brings solutions to the future needs of our students. This project was conceived in the need to find new ideas to make the work of the GEP group more effective. All teachers involved in this project can bring their teaching experience, but they are limited by the national space. The need to expand horizons and seeing how it works in other European spaces creates the desire to seek for other centers with similar goals and with good results in working with foreign languages. The center was selected by eTwinning because of its similar profile, intercultural communication and teaching quality. The wide experience in foreign language teaching of Chapman school was the reason of our choice. Communication was established, the goals and projects exchanges and they was an agreement of activities. The members who carry out the activities will be:Andreu Dexeus: Head of studies and teacher of music. He is also in charge of the multilingualism experimental group (GEP).Irene Calvo de Santisteban is the school exchanges coordinator and teacher of Spanish language. She now carries out the school exchanges with Italy and Sweden. Both have the goal of the study of Best Practice in Education, Andreu Dexeus in the field of management in this project and Irene Calvo in the field of languages skills, with the aim to get a broader sight and overall knowledge of multilingual and multicultural Chapman school projects.Annabel Salvany is deputy head of studies coordinator and teacher of technology. She is also in charge of the school projects and staff coordination.Esther Guardiola Abellà is the multilingual experimental group coordinator of the center and teacher of mathematics. Both participants have the aim of accomplishing the activity of teaching abroad. Annabel in science and Esther in mathematics will teach in English to show the implementation of CLIL method in conducting multilingual projects in the partner center.Since these teachers are involved in Best Practices in Education activities they would like to broaden their organizational skills in the field of multilingualism projects in order to implement them in our school. As to the teachers who perform the activity of teaching abroad they would like to gain a better skill, ability and knowledge in the application of CLIL project. In our center, teaching different subjects in English is experimental while Chapman school has great experience working in English projects. That is the reason why we are looking forward to learning from them. In the same way, we think that we can offer Chapman school our experience in AICLE work.
