Promote Knowledge and Awareness of the EU at Grassroots Level in Georgia
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the proposed 3-year long project GRASS intends to deepen the awareness on the EU related topics in Georgia through 3 targeted in-depth training seminars (24 hours each) for the journalists, youth members of the political parties, civil society actors and civil servants. GRASS will conduct 6 outreach seminars in the regions of Georgia, particularly those regions that are populated with the national minorities. Target groups of the outreach seminars will be local teachers, civil society actors, journalists and civil servants from the municipalities. Another awareness raising tool used by GRASS will be a publication “Myths and Realities on the EU in EaP Countries”, which compiles main myths about the European Union in the EaP countries and aims to rebuke them through the thorough and in-depth analysis (The publication is available online at http://grass.org.ge/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/EaP-publication.pdf ). This publication was created within the framework of the project "Busting Myths regarding EU in the EaP Countries" supported by MFA of Czech Republic under Eastern Partnership Grant Scheme 2014 and implemented by GRASS. GRASS will disseminate publication to various higher education institutions, media houses, libraries, regional libraries, as well as the community centers, which exist in 12 municipalities and which serve as the gathering places for the local youth. Finally, GRASS will create video materials from the conducted lectures and will share all information (videos, presentations, materials, publications) through its web site, as well as through the Tbilisi State University's resource page - Georgica, which collects Georgia related information (georgica.tsu.edu.ge).
