Background of Project:Our school is continuously adapting to the requirements of the work force. Not only is our school influenced by national, but also international work force expectations. We are also inclined towards Europe and as such are preparing and encouraging our students to enter the European work force. Teachers are required to teach new skills and develop existing skills, for example project management, social relations (teacher-student, teacher-teacher), intercultural communication, planning and executing cooperation needs, including the development of the key competences. In this way, our school is open towards better European cooperation.These competences are reflected in international training courses. Most importantly is that this learning and experience does not only last the duration of the course, but rather continues into all aspects of later life (Life Long Learning). Furthermore, during these training courses, teachers are able to meet new potential partners and thus initiate new student exchange programmes.Aims of the Project:The aim of the project is to develop the teaching staff’s intercultural and project management competences. Four people would like to participate into the project, although the present tender only includes one person. Participants are prepared to participate in international training courses. They are fluent in foreign languages (German and English teachers), and they would like to give their aquired knowledge of Europe to their students and implement it into their lessons.The main stages for the realization of the project:The chosen teachers will take part at the intercultural project management training. Then the aquired knowledge will be implemented into the school programme (curriculum), partly the teachers, present international school projects and in their new projects.Long and short term expected results of the project:The seminar will provide experience and motivation in the field of intercultural learning and cooperation. During the European projects, the school will be able to funtion more efficiently. The training course will reinforce teachers’ work with their work in European projects, their determination, as well as assisting the students develop their intercultural, foreign language competence skills. In this way, we will be able to better prepare our students for European and international expectances in the work force.
