Due to the fact that the New Middle School for Modern Languages Greiseneckergasse has a focus on modern languages -the students have, next to additional English lesson, to choose a second foreign language- it seems to be the thing to do to enable advanced trainings for language and communication skills for our teachers. Every day we deal with the diversity of languages and cultures in our school and we see it as an enrichment. There have been numerous projects aiming on improving the student's skills, not only in German, English and the second foreign language (Spanish, Italian or French), but also in their mother tongue, which is very often not German. Those projects were not only competitions and theatre projects, but also trips to other countries. The children are also being encouraged to use all languages and to see the diversity of languages and cultures as a benefit. For the teachers it is also important, not only to improve their own (language) skills, but also to exchange with, and expierience other cultures.
