Project Management in Era Plus
Start date: May 2, 2015, End date: Jan 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Project Management in the Era Plus” is a training course that will involve 31 participants coming from 9 Countries. Tutors of EVS projects, project coordinators, representative of organizations (sending, coordinating and hosting), mentors, ex EVS volunteers and youth workers interested in developing EVS projects as SO, COO and HO represent the target group to which the project is addressed. The training course will last 8 days and it will be held in Nurri (Province of Cagliari). It aims at providing participants with tools to manage an EVS project in an effective way, realizing high quality activities and supporting the volunteers through their learning process and personal development. The project wants to transfer to the participants competences and tools to bring quality and positive results for the volunteers and for the hosting and sending organizations; it aims at building new partnerships for the implementation of EVS projects and wants to provide the youth workers who have never worked before in the EVS field with the possibility to get to know it better through other participants’ sharing of good practices and experiences. “Project Management in the Era Plus” wants to facilitate the re-integration of the EVS volunteer once back home. The planned activities aim at favouring the intercultural dialogue among people belonging to different cultures and proveniences and want to promote the European Voluntary Service and the Erasmus + Programme. Participants will get an overview that concerns the management of the main EVS phases. These will be described starting from the selection, pre-departure preparation and support of the volunteer before starting his/her EVS, going through the support during the implementation of the activities (definition of the working plan, health insurance, linguistic support, mentorship, Youthpass) till the evaluation and the support for the re-integration of the volunteer in his/her Country. Different sessions will be organized to analyse in detail the points of the “EVS Charter”, which has a fundamental importance for the effective management and implementation of the project. During the training course great importance will be given to activities focused on the intercultural learning, conflict management, communication, budget management, periodic evaluations to monitor the development of the volunteer’s project, writing of the activity agreement among the partners of the project. Non formal methodology will be used for the implementation of the sessions (through frontal presentations, debates, simulations, role-plays, case studies, sharing of good practices, brainstorming…) Particular attention will be given to the role of the mentor, fundamental figure in an EVS project as responsible for the support of the volunteer during his/her learning process and during the filling in of the Youthpass. The training course will be an occasion to make contact among the different EVS partner organizations, favouring the development of future partnerships. Press, autorities, local associations will be involved to give a contribution to the project visibility and to its local impact.
