Progresser, s'Ouvrir et s'Epanouir par une Mobilité Européenne
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our 2- year project P.O.E.M , involves the Vocational Education Training in our High School Édouard BRANLY, located in Lyon. The grants will allow 10 students each year (20 in total) attending their final year of Bac Pro (B.tech National) in Electrical Trades (Electro-technical and Electronics) to perform the fifth internship of their course in a swedish company in Gothenburg, for a duration of 4 weeks. A member of our staff spent a school year (2013-2014) in Sweden, thanks to a 'Jules Verne' project and had therefore, the opportunity to find partners there . These links with Sweden will be even more implemented since this member of staff will exchange her position with a swedish teacher next year (2015-2016). Both already are and will be deeply involved in the project team . These actions are part of our school policy "Opening up to Europe" as a V.E.T centre. It will be a great opportunity for our learners to improve their vocational skills during this work experiment abroad . They will get better at their job and will become more self reliant . They will have to integrate in a working team and to do so, improve their communication skills and build strategies to be creative and show initiative. Speak english daily in their working environment will lead them to realize what is at stake in learning a foreign language . The preparation offered before the Mobility will start to open them up to the cultural gap . It will be instructive and rich on a personal and professional level . The achievement of this project will help them to attend higher education studies and become more competitive on the employment market later on. Partnership, on both sides, will make placements easier for learners and will give teachers and staff the chance to compare their methods or tools . Living together as a group during these 4 weeks will mean a unique experience and will require positive attitudes and good spirit from the students . Even if monitored , they will be in charge of daily chores such as prepare meals, shop for food and plan activities . This will test their maturity and help them to get more out of it all. To carry out this project , the team detailed stages in its accomplishment and each member, according to his or her experience and skills helped out. The final choice of learners who will benefit of the grants is based upon different and clear criteria , not only scholar assessments or grades. "Progress and Opportunity in European Mobility " will be a fullfilling experience for our students, our staff and our school.
