Mencia de Mendoza has an international profile. We have a large bilingual department (tto) and we are an Elos-school (EuropeanThe International School of Breda is a department of our school. This means that we are working hard on making European and International Orientation (EIO) an integral part of our school curriculum, that emphasis is put on the (modern) foreign languages (besides the regular curricula of the modern foreign languages, our students can enter programmes for Cambridge, Delf and Goethe cerficates); there are student exchange programmes; one of our objectives is working with e-twinning and other digital forms of international cooperation. We apply for a Erasmus+ grant for 11 of our employees: 2 members of our school management team and 9 teachers. All courses we apply for are aimed at extending our knowledge and skills, teaching instruments and contacts abroad. We apply for the Erasmus+ grant to go to a leadership course in Copenhagen, a CLIL course in Carlisle, a course in Lisbon from the European Association for Urban History and a Dutch CERN teacher's programme in Geneva. As we have stated above all participants will make a written evaluation report after returning, which will be discussed with school management and will be on the agenda of team meetings and study meetings.
