Professional and International Training, Opportunities for Real(PITOR)
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Professional and International Training, Opportunities for Real (PITOR)" is a project, managed by "La Maison de l'Europe de Niort et des Deux-Sèvres", which aims at enabling young people between 18 and 30 years old who have just left vocational training for less than one year, who are monitored by the Mission Locale (French agency helping young people between 16 and 25 years old with their professional integration) or Pôle Emploi (French employment agency) and who are living in the Deux-Sèvres department to benefit from professional training abroad during 3 or 6 months. Our main target audience is young people who may think they are excluded from mobility programs, who are not highly qualified (no more than a 3-year degree) and who are having problems with social and vocational insertion. This project includes a job shadowing mobility in the organisation of our new partner in Lithuania, this mobility will be experienced by one volunteer from the board in order to integrate the volunteers of MDE in european projects. This initiative takes place in a very rural department (the Deux-Sèvres) in which youth unemployment rate is quite high and where there are no universities. Our main aim is that the participants in the project will develop personal, professional and linguistic skills which will help them with their entry into working life. They will benefit from a rewarding intercultural experience - this is clearly an asset to achieve their career plans."La Maison de l’Europe de Niort et des Deux-Sèvres" (MDENDS) works together with the Missions Locales (ML) in the department and their counselors specialized in European programs. The counselors act as link people between the MDE and the other employees of the MLs. They also participate in monitoring committees once every six months. On our own, we work on the personal and professional goals of every participant. Nevertheless, our jobs are closely linked so that everyone can access the programs, even the ones who think they are excluded from mobility.Three waves of departure are planned in September, January and April so that we can set up preparatory meetings before everyone leaves. For this project, we are planning to send 15 young professional abroad (8 six-month placements and 7 three-month placements) in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Lithuania or the United Kingdom. We will decide of the time abroad according to each participant’s profile. The same goes for the place, the choice will be made according to what the participant thinks it is the best. In eachcountry, our intermediate partners will be looking for internship setting locations, as required by the participants. With this project, we wish to maintain the close cooperation we have built for years with the "Missions Locales" and our European partners. We also hope that this experience will be a perfect stringboard for each participant professionally and personally. At a local level, we want to act for youth employment, which has been declared a national priority.
