The project focuses on widening and deepening professional and key competences of the teachers of English and German languages. Its main aim is to improve the language abilities, development of methodology, teaching techniques and getting practical ideas to lessons, gaining knowledge of business language and language for travel and tourism. The aim of the project is for the participants to increase general, professional and cultural level of the taught language. The other reasons for participating in the project are learning new teaching techniques and providing the pupils and students with information about the authentic language, current labour market, its requirements and demands. The participants of the project are four teachers, two teaching German and two English language. The teachers of German teach the language as the second or the third compulsory language at secondary and higher school, prepare the pupils and students for general leaving examination - maturita. They also prepare the students for the Final Certificate at our higher vocational school. The English teachers are responsible for teaching the language as the first compulsory language at secondary and higher school, prepare the pupils for general leaving examination - maturita. They also, as the German teachers, prepare the students for the Final Certificate at our higher vocational school. The German language course is designed for eight to twelve non-native speakers teaching German at secondary schools. It consists of twenty sixty-minute lessons per week emphasising mainly teaching techniques and methodology of German language. Five extra lessons per week focus on culture, Austrian music, art, history and the cuisine, Vienna waltz and sport. The English course is designed for minimum six non-native speakers teaching English at secondary schools. It offers twenty forty-five-minute lessons per week and it covers methodology and the language itself. Eight lessons per week will be spent on business English and English for travel and tourism. The expected effect of the project on the participants will be improvement of their language skills, language teaching methodology development and it also will improve the quality of teaching and their professional language knowledge. The organisation will get an opportunity to use teaching methods of higher quality and teach more effectively. That will consequently affect the teaching plans and also the School Educational Curriculum. All the above should increase the motivation of the pupils and students not only to study languages but also to become confident and succeed at finding a job at the European labour market.
