Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Teacher developement was the name of 2year project at the Secondary Medical School and Medical College in Kolín. The project was aimed at developing staff competence. It enabled them to study more and develop and apply new teaching methods and to use ICT tools and online tools in schooling. It was finished in May 2016. There was a demand of a high-quality of preparation of our students for their graduation exam of English and also a demand to improve their motivation to study. 2 teachers of English were chosen to take part in educational courses abroad, because they wanted to be educated and were willing to share their experience upon return. It followed that between other goals of the school belonged quality improvement of education, increasing the rate of motivation of our students and also teachers and improving their language knowledge. The last important goal was to start a friendship with other European participants of these courses and exchange ideas with them and to make school partnership in other projects of the EU. Namely according to our goals we chose these 2 language courses for secondary school teachers in Malta: 1. The goal od the first methodology course was to revise and revitalise methods of teaching English, to compare them with other participants of the course and to gain new ideas how to improve these methods and techniques in the process of teaching in classrooms. Within this two-week course the participants were offered a wide range of interesting materials. During purely practical and interactive sessions the participants communicated a lot and thus they improved their knowledge of the English language. Moreover this course was also focused on using ICT tools in today´s classroom including the use of interactive whiteboard in teaching. 2. The second course was aimed at information technologies both in teaching and in different school projects. The aim was to teach the participants how to use ICT tools and to use Web 2.0. technology. In practical organised workshops the participants made Blog and Wiki projects, they were taught how to use an interactive whiteboard and other interesting tools, software and programmes which can be use as freeware and they prepared settings for these programmes. They also selected which of these technologies and in what way they would try them out in their own lessons. They made a Personal Development Action Plan. The connection between methodology and technology was ensured. Moreover the teachers improved their communication skills in English. The aim of this course was to use as many modern technologies as possible in teaching today´s students. One teacher went to the methodology course and the second one to the course focused on using ICT tools in teaching. Both made their own Personal Development Action Plan and they exchanged their experience during their meetings after finishing the courses. They also disseminated the outcomes to other teachers and they provided them training and the teaching materials. Both teachers made conclusions and they met other teachers on a methodological meeting of social sciences at our school and they decided together which new pieces of knowledge would be implemented in Curriculum and how to use new online tools, software and freeware in classes. The pupils of our school were the main target group in this project, because through this applications of new methods and materials they improved their motivation for their learning. After finishing courses both teachers fulfiled the requirements of the European School Development plan. The project improved methodology in teaching, enriched the education through new teaching materials. The teachers used in practise, online software tools and teaching aids, they improved their communication skills in the English language. The school in Malta confirmed their attendance and some information about it on Mobility Europass. Moreover the teachers made friendships with other European participants and they made an eTwinning project and they will cooperate in other Erasmus+ projects in the future within the European school partnerships and within the interacionalization they will help to solve global and regional problems on an international level. Thanks to this teacher development the teaching is dynamic, modern and innovative and improved. After fulfilling all of these goals our school is also more open to Europe.
