Profesionālās pilnveides kursi Kāselē
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

To ensure that the quality of Waldorf School education in Latvia is equivalent to Waldorf education in other countries, ĀBVS teachers will participate in courses in one of the most professional teacher training and methodology centres in Europe, ‘Lehrerseminar für Waldorfpädagogik’ in Kassel. The purpose of the visit is to advance and diversify teachers’ methodological knowledge and skills in Waldorf pedagogy, to introduce and include the most recent teaching methods and modern educational practices, to become more international, and to develop a broader understanding of educational systems in Europe. In addition, teachers will receive in-depth educational training in pedagogy, and will receive support in developing creative skills in working with children. The courses will be targeted for teachers in three subjects: Geography, history, and mathematics. Trainers will provide a 5-day training, which will contain both theoretical knowledge and the upgrading of practical skills, as well as topical discussions between all participants. Participation deepens each teacher’s knowledge of their subject matter, and will improve their skills in methodology, while also raising the overall quality of their work. The presentation of the variety of national experiences of the participants will be an important outcome that will facilitate the inclusion of current issues and cross-cultural awareness in daily classroom activities. This, in turn, will enable students to develop a comprehensive and on-going interest in the world.
