PRIVET - Promoting regular improvement of teachers qualification in technical vocational schools

This valorisation project builds upon three previously funded PHARE projects in enhancing the career paths of teachers and trainers. It aims to develop a European Masters programme for both employed and unemployed teachers and trainers with varying lengths of experience. The project will further propose a framework for strategic development in improving the career development of individual trainers.Tools for self-diagnosis and the objective diagnosis of strengths and weaknesses in teachers' experience will be created by the project and applied to four individual pilot groups each with differing lengths of experience. Assessments will form the basis for the development of four modules, manuals and assessment tools that will be tested, evaluated and finalised, in print, CD-Rom and e-learning formats, for accreditation as masters level qualifications at European level. National reports on pilot testing will lead to the compilation of a framework for the strategic development of the careers paths of teachers and trainers.A large-scale information campaign will further aim to encourage investment in the higher level training of trainers. It will be targeted horizontally to the general public, to teachers and trainers and to those with influence on the career development of these groups, in addition to vertically application through links with both Ministries and Regional Inspectorates.
