It also supports positive experience of education. The Nature School has been a leader in implementing outdoor education in Reykjavík. In recent years it has offered a number of courses on outdoor education, environmental education and sustainability for teachers in preschools and primary schools. A large part of preschools in Reykjavik has already made outdoor education a permanent method in their everyday work. But with increased experience of outdoor education the need for specialized courses has also increased. Many preschoolteachers have sought all the available additional education in outdoor education. These teachers are the leading participants in the peer learning groups in the Nature School and work in 18 different preschools in Reykjavik municipality. The project PRISMA - Outdoor education in european preschools brough Into the Icelandic light gives 40 preschool teachers the opportunity to follow their colleagues in preschools in five European countries and by doing so strengthen their knowledge and skills in outdoor education with younger children. The aim of the project is to make this group of preschool teachers bring back home new trends and ideas in outdoor education and communicate them to the school community in the municipality. This will be done by sharing new education with the peer learning groups of the Reykjavik Nature School, in other courses on behalf of the Natureschool and other preschools. Outdoor educational teaching projects for preschools will also be issued. It is the overall goal of PRISMA to increase outdoor education in preschools in Reykjavík.
