Priekules High School is the general secondary education institution in Latvia, which consists of 255 students and 32 teachers. Past experience of school analysis shows that the pupils’ sustainability education is missing. Pupils do not have sufficient abilities for the life of the European Union in a multicultural society, necessary skills: to learn the active operation and the ability to plan and conduct their activities in accordance with personally relevant objectives. Therefore, school strategic development goal is to improve the quality of the education provided by the school. The aim of the project is to supplement 2 Priekules secondary school teachers study subjects with active learning methods, which allows students to learn not only the specific skills but the life skills necessary for a modern society in general in the areas which are iteresting for both,students and teachers - English and biology. Project Tasks: in September- December(2015) to improve Biology and English language teacher training methods of British environmental education organization „Field Studies Council” (FSC) proposed course „The Outdoor Learning Series” and Malta teacher education organization proposed course „Methodology and Re-Energised Revitalised Revisited,”; in January – June ( 2016) training courses to integrate the acquired experience of direct work with pupils and teachers targeted cooperation with other Priekules high school teachers. In school years 2016/2017 to integrate in the training courses and practical work experience two teachers checked Priekules high school work, with one of the elements of the quality of education, the education in sustainability. As a result of the implementation 2 Priekules high school teachers will acquire professional and school needs active learning methods, which will allow for the integration of the work of teachers in 165 high school pupils to learn effectively not only English and Biology, but also the active learning skills. Targeted cooperation with other Priekules secondary teachers will be set up in the 2 project team members experience transfer to all high school students Priekules work learning experience of other European countries, in cooperation with teachers and students in the available EU programmes (Erasmus eTwininng +, etc.) and provided Priekules high school general education quality development.
