Praxis an österreichischen Auslandsschulen
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

-Participants will be introduced to the history of Turkey and the country's relations to Austria. This includes insights into Turkey's culture and religion. Moreover, visiting various Turkish schools will provide a deeper understanding of the Turkish school system. -Participants will be introduced to the history and status quo of the St. Georgs-Kolleg in Istanbul. They will observe German lessons of different levels, discuss teaching methodology, and be exposed to the difficulties of teaching various other subjects (like Geography) in German to non-native speakers. -Regular meetings between the participants and the staff of the St. Georgs-Kolleg will be a good opportunity to discuss the Turkish and the Austrian school systems, highlighting differences as well as similarities, and ponder possible future developments. -The St. Georgs-Kolleg will put together a schedule for the participants to cover the above mentioned points. Furthermore, it helps participants find accommodation for their stay. -Participants will actively take part in these activities and will share their own ideas, bring their own teaching methods, and be actively involved in some of the lessons. -Participants have a "teaching German as a second language" background and will share teaching methods with their colleagues at the St. Georgs-Kolleg.
