ΠΡΑΣΙΝΕΣ ΚΑΙΝΟΤΟΜΙΕΣ ΣΕ ΜΙΚΡΕΣ ΕΠΙΧΕΙΡΗΣΕΙΣ
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The market interest is focused on the development of the ever emerging 'green economy', emphasizing the promotion of "green" innovations in SMEs. These are the backbone of the European economy and contribute significantly to the competitiveness of the Greek economy. In this context emerges the need for so-called "green entrepreneurship" in the form of a new economic activity. Green business consists of positive business attitude to environmental protection in the overall plan of action, including products and services, both during and after the production process. It can be traced to two main forms: saving resources and protecting the environment. A green company provides environmental protection as part of its mission. The integration of environmental protection into a business philosophy allows it to integrate into specific policies and tactics that result from the overall strategy. The inclusion of green policies in the procedures of a company, other than the environmental benefits that will emerge from it, can in the long term or even in the medium term lead to economic benefits. The object of the proposal concerns the application of environmental management systems in order to save resources and protect the environment, with a view to developing environmental awareness among small and medium sized entrepreneurs and attitude change towards more environmentally friendly tactics. To serve and achieve the above, this program was designed and aims to encourage and support enterprises to increase their competitiveness and entrepreneurial action through green processes. As a central goal of the project is defined: • Presentation of techniques for saving resources with low or no cost, • The information on proper use of heating and lighting, • Information on benefits to improve insulation and reduce heat loss, • Presentation of spatial instructions that improve energy efficiency, • The implementation of energy saving electronic devices and computers, • Presentation materials that do not pollute the environment, • The use and recovery of waste. Expected results and key objectives are education and retraining staff, able to cope with and adapt to the current green growth. Thus, the expected benefits to be gained by the participants after the end of the project include: • Adapting to the trend of green growth, • Limiting costs through reducing energy consumption and materials used; • Utilization of existing infrastructure in environmentally friendly directions • Turn of interest in environmentally friendly processes and materials • Active participation in the effort to protect the environment, • Reducing the costs of their business, • Use the newly acquired knowledge and skills to benefit the environment but also themselves, • Reduction in unnecessary waste of materials, • Applying modern techniques and methods used by companies in international markets in general. The total project duration will be 14 days for 22 participants and will be held in Spain and more specifically from 01/03/2015 to 14/03/2015. Thus, exploring the business situation and the particular needs of the local labor market and according to the business plan, the Federation chose to support at this stage entrepreneurs and business executives of SME - human resources managers who employ staff to become more competitive, to learn new methods of production and organization of their work and to upgrade their skills by transferring their knowledge to their workers. The host organization Moveu which was chosen to implement the program is an educational institution and companies from Spain that has rich experience in adult education and has implemented programs with similar themes. The FEDERATION OF PROFESSIONAL-INDUSTRY-TRADE UNIONS OF NAFPAKTIA AND DORIDA has developed specific management practices and implementation of the project to comprehensively monitor the overall project. The purpose of this mechanism is the correct completion of the project in accordance with the restrictions and specifications required-as defined in the implementation guide program Erasmus +.
