Praktyki zagraniczne kluczem do rozwoju szkolnictwa zawodowego 2
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project is a continuation of the previously implemented project entitled:„Vocational training abroad as the key to the development of vocational education” which was successfully completed in 2016. The success of the first edition as well as the enormous interest of students have contributed to the final conclusion that the continuation of the actions formerly taken is not only justifiable but quite necessary. The aim of the project is to improve the situation and the quality as well as appeal of vocational education through organising vocational training abroad and multidirectional development of the participants. The choice of the partner with a long-term and versatile experience in the implementation of mobility programs for students of vocational schools characterised by various profiles is a positive factor leading to achieving this goal. The project participants will have the opportunity to develop the skills and competence of both professional and key competence (including language and ICT) and in particular occupational skills and competence - in the diagnosis and repair of motor vehicles, mechatronic devices and systems and car tinsmith methods of work , practical skills in handling tools, machinery and equipment, the use of the acquired knowledge and skills to perform some specific practical tasks. The project will influence and modify the attitudes of the participants and especially the development of their social and personal skills, will increase their mobility, ability to work in a team as well as their motivation to learn. It will raise their responsibility and autonomy in performing certain tasks, enhance the development of social networks and a sense of European identity. The project is intended for students in second and third grade of two vocational schools in Lodz – The Technical School of Mechanical Car Engineering and The Highschool No. 22 specialising in professions of: vehicles technician, mechatronic technician, car tinsmith, car mechanic, mechatronic fitter. The students will take a two-week vocational training in Portugal and it will cover 112 participants.Organization of the vocational training abroad for students is a response to problems reported by schools: a small number of people willing to study at vocational schools, poor educational outcomes reflected in the low passing rate of vocation exams and high school final exams, a difficult situation of the graduates on the local market. The situation is similar in other vocational schools in Poland. The number of students deciding to continue their education in vocational schools is constantly declining. The main reason of this situation is low prestige of such schools in the public opinion. Moreover, employers believe that the educational offer is not adapted to the requirements of the labor market - first of all there is not enough hours of practical classes. The project is expected to reach – equally to the first edition - a wide audience in Poland and in Europe through promoting activities (promotion of the project on the websites of schools and partners, wide exposure during school events, fairs, conferences, etc.).Realisation of the project will have a positive effect not only on the target group and their professional qualifications but also will contribute to significant changes in the socio-economic environment of the schools (especially those of entrepreneurs), the situation on the local labor market. It will also affect other schools in the region and will help to change the perception of vocational education and raise its prestige.
