Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main goal of the project is the growth of knowledge and the increase of students’ vocational competences through the vocational training in the Irish IT companies. Students will know the work environment in the country using latest technologies. The companies, in which students will have their vocational training, use the modern informatics techniques and specialise in designing websites, computer graphics, production, trade and service of computer hardware. The target receivers of the project are students aged 17-19 who are taught to become IT technicians. Their theoretical knowledge exceeds their practical skills. The expected results are the development in the quality of vocational and practical training at the school and the increase in vocational qualifications, thanks to which our graduates will be desired employees on the labour market. The vital aspects of the mobility project are improvement of students’ language skills, knowing the culture and history of Ireland, breaking the barriers and national stereotypes, learning independence and responsibility, synergy effect (positive impact on school community), the growth of competitiveness of the school, widening of the educational offer, proper assessment of possibility of employment, establishing new international contacts. The students will acquire the knowledge in scope of using the packets of applications software and software tools, using IT English, gaining the skills of work organising in the context of data processing. The project will last 2 years. During that time, 3 groups of students will go to Ireland. The 1st group will consist of 18 students and 2 teachers, in the 2nd group there will be 18 students and 2 teachers, the 3rd group will comprise of 20 students and 2 teachers. The participants will acquire the necessary knowledge in scope of IT and demonstrate their knowledge of English. Their knowledge will be verified and certified by the semester grades and by the results of contests and competitions. The essential aspect of the recruitment process is the participants’ psychological maturity. Each candidate for the project will be considered individually acc. to the behaviour grade, the tutor’s opinion and the school pedagogue’s opinion on the candidate’s emotional maturity. When the recruitment process finishes, participants will take part in cultural, pedagogical and language preparations: language course in vocational English and psychological and pedagogical workshops. Each student will be obliged to have an account on the educational platform created for the project, will participate in e-learning IT courses, and will know the future workplace. The training will last for 4-week for each group and will take place in Ireland, Mallow co. Cork. The training time is the minimum time to achieve the intended aims. The training in Ireland and cooperation with YIT will allow to achieve key aims of the projects. The project will be beneficial for students, teachers and the whole school community. Basing on our experience in LdV, it can be said that the project can’t be only identified with the students’ training but also opening to European horizons, appreciating of EU ideas, gaining intercultural awareness. Through the dissemination and the using of the results, the values are promoted among the school community (students, teachers, parents) and the local community. The project realisation contributes to promotion of the school and emphasises the possibilities of the students’ professional development - what is the asset at today demanding labour market. The particular stages of project realisation will be published by the local press and the project results will be shown on the school website. The ideas and gained experiences will be presented to school headmasters in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
