Its title is: „A foreign traineeship in a hotel – my start in vocational life” . It began at 1 September 2014 and ended at 31 August 2016. It concerned 21 students from the gastronomical major, 5 students from the hotel industry and 3 alums right away after school finals. Termins of the traineeship were: 28 February 2015 to 30 March 2015 (first group) and second group - alums 31 August to 30 November 2015 with the journey, the third group – students from 15 February to 16 March 2016 with the journey. The project for the foreign traineeship for the students and alums from the majors concerning gastronomy and hotel industry was based on the ECVET system. Project partners discussed the propositions of assessment, validation and acknowledgment of the student’s achievements. Moreover, this project responded to the assumptions and aimed of the ERASMUS+ programme and Europe 2020 strategy because it aimed at e.g better preparation of young people for the entrance into the world of work and prevention of the high unemployment rate among them. Partnership group consisted of 14 institutions. These were: Powiatowy Zespół No 4 Szkół Ekonomiczno-Gastronomicznych im. Komisji Edukacji Narodowej in Oświęcim as an illative institution, Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle as a central coordinator of the project in Germany, 11 hotels which accept our students in Thuringia and Hessen (Hotel Rennsteig, Thüringer Waldblick Boxberg GmbH, Mühlhäuser Brauhaus zum Löwen, Göbels Aquavita and Göbel`s Hotel Quellenhof, Göbel`s Rodenberg, Göbel`s Vital Hotel Bad Sachsa, Waldhotel Rennsteighöhe, Hotel „Zur Kaiserpfalz”, Forshaus Thiemsburg, Kulturhotel Kaiserhof) and The Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry. All the institutions which receive our students and alums assured us that they will develop their vocational, linguistic and personal competences. During the practice, participants got familiar with the operations made by small and medium enterprises and they got information about the dual vocational education system in Germany. They worked in the kitchen, restaurant, they also served the guests, took care of keeping order in rooms and on the floors. In their free time they discovered the beauty of the local towns and culture of Thuringia. After the work practice participants received a certificate which confirms their traineeship. They l also got Europass Mobility and Europasss Language Passport. This project based on the regulations of assessment according to the ECVET system – partners signed an arrangement about the cooperation and the traineeship’s programme. The most important results, which participants acquired are a good knowledge of German professional language. It helps them to communicate without problems. They acquired also a practical knowledge about hotel and gastronomical industry, quality of the services, international expectations from the consumers and correspondence of the offers of services connected with tourism industry according to the rules and regulations settled by EU. The project allowed also students to get familiar with the German culture and customs which may result in bilateral sympathy. Participatants may present the acquired knowledge and abilities and use them not only in Poland, where the gastronomic-hotel market needs qualified workers, but also in other European countries. Thanks to this project our school cheered up its education offer and developed also its operations aiming at Europeanisation of the school. Thanks to the gained experience our school will apply for accreditation to realise next projects within Erasmus+ programme.
