Start date: Dec 1, 2014, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is titled „Foreign traineeship as a constant element of education in Zawiercie”. We aim it at 40 students (24 from the major of feeding and gastronomical services and hotel industry technicians and 16 from the major logistics technicians). They will have monthly vocational traineeship in Thüringen in 4 groups per 10 people (in each of them 6 gastronomes/hoteliers and 4 logistics specialists). Our project lasts 24 months and it begins at 1 July 2014 and ends at 30 June 2016. Traineeships take place in the following months: September/October 2015 (group 1), October/November 2015 (group 2), February/March 2016 (group 3) and March/April 2016 (group 4). During the journey and their stay they will be accompanied by a German-speaking caretaker. The partnership group consists of small and medium enterprises which accept students for traineeships. They are located in Thüringen, Germany: Göbel's Sophienhotel - Eisenach, Waldhotel Berghof - Luisenthal, Thüringer Waldblick Boxberg – Leinatal and Logisitk Center Berka GmbH in Berka/Werra. The aim of these enterprises is the best preparation of the students for their future work. The German coordinator Siegmundsburger Hasu Werraquelle is our main partner, with whom our school has cooperated since 2008. The Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry is our additional partner, who supports our actions. The most important purposes of the project base on the priorities of the programme Erasmus+. They are: • rising of the vocational and linguistic competences along with acquiring the Mobility Europass, which is accepted in the EU countries • accomplishment of all the project’s tasks, realizing all the actions which are typical for the majors represented by the students, thanks to which they change theoretical knowledge into practical activities • accomplishment of the independence in making decisions, majority of students already know what kind of work they want to do in future • cognition of the characteristic features of Thüringen and usage of them in tourism industry • rising of the quality of school, matura exam – better results in German language • thanks to the proper linguistic preparation the students are able to choose German language on the matura exam • acquisition of the skills connected with organization of the free time • comparison of the operations made in Polish and German companies (according to the occupations): gastronomy, hotel industry and logistics • establishment of the new interactions and acquaintances with German employers and employees. • rising of the attractiveness of young people on the job market • personal development of participants, including self-confidence and belief in their competences • rising of the quality of participants’ abilities and also key skills (incl. writing, reading, speaking) • a long-term cooperation between the school and enterprises • internationalization of the school’s actions. The content of the project refers to the requirements set by the ECVET system. Every participant will be individually assessed by the enterprise where he realizes his traineeship. It will follow the previously discussed system of the acknowledgement of acquired competences and the school will acknowledge the effects of learning already at school. Participants of the project will receive: • Mobility Europass; • certificate from Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle; • additional grades in German language and vocational subjects Moreover, participants will compile their own CV according to the Europass standards. Thanks to the several-year collaboration with Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle GmBH we know that the youth will come back from Germany very content, motivated and ready for realizing new challenges. We also count on an idea that competences acquired by the students will help them to find a good job. Participants will become more self-confident because of the new linguistic, vocational and cultural knowledge that they gain. Documents which confirm their competences will be also valuable attachments for their files. Our school will also benefit from the project. It will become a more attractive place for the next students. Thanks to the positive results of the external traineeship it will have a chance to set up new majors. Partnership group will develop its international experience connected with organization and coordination of the vocational traineeship in its enterprises. This project also fulfills the needs of dropping the unemployment rate in Zawiercie region. Local gastronomic corporations will equip themselves with new and experienced staff.
