The first group included 9 students and an attendant, the second group – 11 students and two attendants, one for the first two weeks, and the second one for the remaining two weeks. Participants of each group with their attendants were accommodated in Gut Wehlitz (the seat of company Vitalis GmbH). The main objective of the project was gaining new skills and experience during four-week practical vocational training with German employers in the region of Leipzig and Halle in accordance with practice programme in following dates: I group – 25.05.-19.06.2015, II group – 31.08.- 25.09.2015 (attendants exchange on 12-13.09.2015). As a part of the cultural programme, during weekends the apprentices explored history and culture of Germany. In their free time, students met with their peers from EU countries, which allowed them to establish personal contacts and exchange experience not only professional but also connected with everyday life. The project aimed also at the acquisition of the participants experience in the technical profession, to supplement the knowledge and skills acquired while studying at the Technical School with the experience of working for a foreign employer, learning about professional environment of another country, raising the vocational qualifications and thereby increase the chances of success in the labour market and learning language and culture of Polish western neighbour, overcoming language, interpersonal and cultural barriers and stereotypes. Before leaving for the practice, the participants took part in a language and cultural course maintained by a German teacher (20 hours each group), in classes with the school counsellor (2 hours each group) and classes reminding safety rules (3 hours each group). The participants obtained working kits and individual support I the form of allowance. The participants completed questionnaires and diagnostic tests exploring their feelings and skills both before going to practice and after the return. Representatives of the Partner provided practices in local companies dealing with automotive mechanics. The attendant on behalf of ZS monitored the implementation of practices, cared about the students safety and supported them in problematic situations. Having finished the practices, the students received Europass Mobility certificates and certificates of practices completion.
