The Escuela Comarcal Arzobispo Morcillo, is a (100%) state-subsidised catholic school dedicated to vocational education and training (initial vocational education and short cycles higher education) which is located in the Madrid region. Our school and teachers have experience in finding work placements since 1998. Furthermore, the school and the teachers have built along the years a wide network of companies (400-500). Indeed, we have a trustworthy and long established relationship with those companies which have provided our school with many work placements for our students. Teachers in charge of the work placements are efficient in finding the most appropriate work placements. They are very reliable, communicative and very quick at solving problems. Moreover, they are used to working with companies and handling work placement and monitoring students. Finally, our teachers have the social skills needed in order to handle excellent work placements.This project includes two actions: student mobility and staff mobility. The student mobility action will allow students to complete a work placement in a foreign company. The students involved in the first action are between 17 and 22 years old and are enrolled in initial vocational education: commerce, administration, mechanics, electronics, electricity and vehicle body repair. In total, 36 students are going to take part in the programme. We will organise 18 mobilities in 2016 and the rest of them will be organised in 2017 as follows: 6 from commerce, 6 from administration, 6 from mechanics, 6 from electronics, 6 from electricity and 6 from vehicle body repair. Regarding staff mobility, in total, 12 teachers will take part in the job shadowing action. We will organise 6 mobilities in 2016 and the rest of them will be organised in 2017. Teachers from the following departments will be involved : administration, commerce, language, mechanics, electronics, body repair vehicle and electricity. The language used during the mobility period will be ; Frech and Romanian. Our desire is both to open our school to the European dimension and to collaborate on achieving some European objectives such as helping young people to be more qualified and answer qualified workforce demand of entreprises, to take part in a international experience and to enhance employability and improve career prospects at a local, national, European and international level. Our aims is to reach the following objective through the mobility: students will develop practical knowledge related to their field of study, acquire corporate culture, acquire practical knowledge and relate it to theory, develop autonomy, improve foreign language competences, enhance intercultural awareness, foster awareness of the European project, increase motivation to take part in future education or training after the mobility period abroad, foster corporate behaviour, improve learning performance, increase sense of initiative, increase self-empowerment and self-esteem. This project will also enhance employability and improve career prospects. Moreover, this mobility project will strengthen cooperation between companies and schools and enhance social cohesion. The objectives will would like to achieve through staff mobility are the following: share teaching practice, enhance teaching practice, share work related experience, improve competences related to their professional profiles, increase understanding of practices, policies and systems in education in Europe, trigger changes in terms of modernization and internationalization in their educational organizations, increase motivation and satisfaction in their daily work, improve foreign language competences, broaden their horizons, increase opportunities for professional and career development, enhance intercultural awareness, promote excellence in teaching, develop innovative teaching methods and pass on what they have learned during the staff mobility period to students. The programme will have an impact and benefits on students, teachers and our school. The impact on our students is : motivation increase to take part in future education or training after the mobility period abroad, improvement of learning performance, reduction of shool drop out, employability enhancement and improvement of career prospects, self-empowerment and self-esteem increase, personal enrichment thanks to the experience, autonomy and sense of initiative increase and increase of maturity. The impact on our teachers is : enhancement of teaching practice, trigger changes in terms of modernization and internationalization in their educational organizations, motivation and satisfaction increase in their daily work and broaden their horizons. The impact on our school is : school education project enhancement, teaching quality improvement, school prestige increase, students enrolment increase and increase in terms of modernisation and internationalisation.
