Practical Exersice: On the Job Training

The 7th EPAL Patras is the applicant and sending organization. In this school study 420 pupils and 47 teachers It offers the following specialties: Agriculture, Information Technology, Health and Welfare and Economy - Administration.After that the pedagogical team proposes to the Teachers Board and received approval for the preparation of the following mobility project entitled «Practical Exercise: On the job training», in the program Erasmus + and KA 1, "Mobility learners and staff." The total duration is 12 months, from 06/01/2016 up to 31/05/2017. Target group is 24 pupils of the third class of the vocational school in the sectors Agriculture, Information Technology, Health-Welfare and 4 accompany teachers. The participants come from low educational and economic level of families with low vocational rehabilitation opportunities. The project will be take place in two flows. The placement will last for two weeks (each flow), the period from 03/04/2017 until 02/04/2017l The overall purpose of the submitted project is to enable our students to acquire, implement, evolve and develop both their specialty related professional skills and key “basic” skills and qualifications are now needed to medium/low level executives in S/M Enterprises of tertiary sector and similar services as well as in health and care units supervised or operated by regional - local government authorities. The 24 students that participate, will go for 2 weeks in Portugal. They come from the sectors of Agriculture, ICT, and Health and Welfar, who will be placed for practical training in primary and tertiary sector enterprises or administration departments of Local Government / Municipality and from the sector of Health (spec. Nurses' assistants, Kindergarten assist..) who will be placed in relative facilities and Municipality units. VET should help meet the immediate and future needs of Europe's skills, and also reducing the social impact of the crisis and facilitate the recovery from it. In the evolving European labor market, S/M Enterprises, and the role that local government authorities will play in the economic reality (especially in our country after the last administrative reorganization) is of particular importance. There is a certain need for the existence of middle level employees (for which demands has been rising over the next decade) well prepared, and having developed significantly both the “hard” professional skills and the key skills / competencies which are (the latter) important for access to work and further learning and a direction in European cooperation in Vet for supporting the “Europe 2020” strategy . Especially our students, who usually acquire a good knowledge on a theoretical basis through their education, but lacking in practical application, need (due to socio-economic backgrounds and previous educational path) to develop and strengthen their key skills. Main goals to be undertaken - Development of students professional skills in sectors of Administration / Economics, Informatics and Health/Care, and also inter-professional skills of the first 2 sectors. - Development of transverse key competencies (metacognitive, social, civilian competencies, initiative, entrepreneurship, creativity, cultural awareness and expression) that will have a positive affect in the overall professional development of students. -Contribute to improve the quality of educational services provided by our school, connection with the labour market, increase innovation, usability and attractiveness of VE. -Develop business interests and improve self-esteem of students -Communication / collaboration for professional and personal development among students and between students – escorts / teachers. -Strengthening of European dimension in our school.-Meet with culture of Portugal. Overall, the program may lead to increasing the employability of students, improving the quality and effectiveness of the EU and also the attractiveness for (prospective) students. Students will obtain Certificate Europass, while there will be a dissemination / exploitation of results and experiences and awareness at school level and in the wider society. Particular regard the diffusion and awareness level of everyday practice in school and the viability of the project.All this will have an impact at local and regional level.Finally, the strengthening of mobility, the sending organization, contributes to achieving the goals of Europe 2020, strengthens its outreach, its possible cooperation with local, regional, National and / or European bodies and participation in a next KA 1 and / or KA2.
