"Poza horyzonty"
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Nov 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

TŁUMACZENIE 1 - studentka I-go roku anglistyki “Beyond horizons” - this is a project, which is supposed to allow the participants to go beyond limitations and broaden their horizons. We hope it will help them to overcome fear, constraints and complexes, which are the results of living in a small town. We assume that the participants of this project will be people coming from small localities, who in comparison with those from big cities, do not have the same opportunities of self-development. Diffidence, low self-esteem, low interpersonal skills, low living standards, limited opportunities of self-development, a confined access to art and culture – all of these pose the barriers, which are restraining budding young people from going on and advancing in achieving their goals. The language of art, which we would like to predominate during realization of our project, is supposed to help in breaking the language barrier. Measures, which are going to be taken, are assumed to allow every participant to discover his or her potential, and start taking advantage of it. It is important for us to let them realise their capabilities and faculties during our cooperative actions. Working in small groups will enable active participation of each of partakers. Art worshops are supposed to give a chance for self-inquiry, and fostering their creativity and imaginativeness. They will boost their courage, and encourage them for independent activities. Presenting the completed project in the street, and direct contact with residents of the town will support them in overcoming their blocks and inner fears. Such activities, we hope, are a proper way to define and assess oneself, and in consequence to raise one's self-esteem. Documenting the project by shooting a movie, creating the fanpage, preparing a photography exhibition or multimedia presentation will widen knowledge and practical skills involving usage of the new technology. Moreover, it will allow us to promote and publicize this project, and the results of our cooperation. Presenting by the groups their own activities run in the local environment will be a good way for experience-exchange and familiarizing with practices, which could be introduced later on by project-partners in their local communities. This project presupposes the participation of 32 people aged 16-21 from TŁUMACZENIE 2 uczeń II klasy LO „Beyond the horizons” – it is a project which is going to let it’s participants go beyond their own borders, expand their horizons, defeat their fears, limitations and hungs-up caused by living in a small town. We want the project participants’ to be young people coming from smaller towns, who are not given such big development potentials as their peers from bigger cities are. Lack of confidence, lowered self-esteem, low level of interpersonal skills, low quality of life, limited development potentials or no contact with culture and art – these are the barriers that hinder young people self-development. Art language which is going to dominate during our project implementation is aimed to help everyone overcome the language barrier. The activities connected to the project are expected to let all participants find everything that is hidden inside them and notice their own potential; we want them to be able to make use of their own capabilities and skills during team work. The small groups the participants will cooperate in are supposed to let everyone share their activity. Art workshops will allow young people to explore themselves, improve creativity and ingenuity; they will embolden and encourage to unassisted activities. The project’s presentation on the street and direct contact with residents will help everyone overbear their barriers and fears; it will also facilitate finding oneself and improving the participants’ self-esteem Registration of the project by making a film, creating a fanpage and preparing a photo exhibition or a slideshow will widen the knowledge and skills connected to modern technology and will allow us to spread the project. The presentation of every group activity undertaken locally in their town will let us exchange our experiences and show good moves which may be introduced by partners in their environment after their homecoming. 32 people aged 16-21 from four countires: Turkey, Italy, Hungary and Poland will join in the project.
