Pour une section européenne STAV réussie
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our organisation is an agricultural high school which provides vocational and technological training from the fifth form to a two year higher education training certificate. It is located in a strategic place, around 30 kilometres from Paris, close to Paris airports, which makes it very easy to travel abroad. As we open a European form in 2015 for the general and technological Fifth form and a European section for the Sciences and Technology of Agronomy and the Living Baccalaureate in September 2016, it is necessary to train a skilled educational team to teach Sciences and Economics in English. The students of this section will have one extra hour per week in English and another hour per week taught in English by a Physics, Biology and Economics teacher. 1 - A physics and chemistry teacher, an economics teacher and a biology teacher would like, firstly,to get the certification that will enable them to teach in the European section and exchange educational practices internationally in English in order to train as best as possible the students of this European form. These three teachers will follow English courses that will enable them to reach the B2 CEFR level to be able to teach in this European section for 3 weeks (one in Irleland and two weeks in Wales). Thanks to this programm, they will develop new international educational strategies. 2 - An English teacher involved in the international cooperation of the school and project management wishes to gain educational methods in the teaching of vocational English specialised in the Sciences and Technologies of Agronomy and the Living European section and more precisely the teaching of agriculture, landscaping and Ecology. She will thus, follow English courses in an organisation providing this type of training for one week in Ireland. She will also improve her project management skills and will set up partnerships who will benefit all the students thanks to an internship she will do in a farm in Wales. 3 - Another English teacher would like to improve his teaching of vocational English by attending English courses specialised in agriculture, landscaping and ecology in a farm in Wales for one week. 4- A humanities teacher (arts and communication) who has already taken part in humanitarian actions and who leads the Coop Inter club of the school, wishes to improve her project management skills in English and benefit from this programme in order to develop partnerships. So,she will attend an English course as well as a social and cultural course to improve her level. She would like to complete her social and culural experience in Ireland for one week to help the participants to mobilities and improve her project management methodology in English. All these trainings will enable us to diversify our teaching methods which will be beneficial to the students of the European section and all the other classes of our school. In the same way, the participants will certainly have better possibilities to create a liking and interest for languages among the students who until now cannot see the real use of language learning. Moreover, the participants to this project wish to come back with a network of partners in order to help their students carry out their collective or individual internships in Europe. This would be a very good opportunity for the students to practice their English in an English speaking country. Our final aim is to enable our students to use their knowledge in languages as a springboard to attend higher education and after to be more easily employed in France and even abroad.
