There will be 20 participants in the project "Count on women", 10 from European Club Douzelage in Chojna (Poland) and 10 from Susice (Czech Republic). The main topic of the project is the position of women in the modern society. The area of problems we are going to discuss will cover stereotypes of women's roles in society and professional life, women as leaders politics, civic organizations and business.We will try to do the research on these factors on local and national levels in both countries and compare the results. Our aims include comparing women's situation in Czech Republic and Poland as well as fighting wrong stereotypes and encourage discussions on women's involvement in the life of society on local level. We will prepare questionnaires on the roles of women and ask opinions of primary and secondary school students as well as the oldest representatives of our local community. Polish and Czech participants of the project will also check and compare number and position of women in town, district and regional councils as well as national parliaments. We will contact and invite to Chojna a person involved in the activities of the Congress of Polish Women to talk about major challenges which women in Poland face. Unemployment offices in Susice and Chojna will be investigated to find out numbers of women being unemployed. Social services in both towns will also be contacted in order to get information of social problems women face. We would like to have to whole picture so we will also interview successful businesswomen and politicians from our towns. We will take photos and organize an ehhibition in our towns to present photographs with characteristics of successful women. Participants of the project will present the results and conclusions of our activities at the town council meetings in our towns and we will also publish brochure of the project.
