Помогни на себе си, помагайки на другите / Help Yourself by Helping Others
Start date: Dec 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main objective of the EVS project is the inclusion of young people from the partner countries- Spain and Greece, as volunteers in Association BRTMI for a period of three months, during which they will pass through different trainings to acquire basic knowledge and skills to support children and youth at risk from dropping out from school and social exclusion. Specific objectives: - To improve the level of key competences of the participants in the project and to encourage their participation in the democratic life of Europe, and in particular in the labor market, their active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity; - To disseminate the results of the project, during and after completion of the project in the partner countries, in order to raise awareness among young people, stakeholders and general public about the contribution of the program Erasmus + for promoting volunteering as noble, socially beneficial and personal development activity. It is not expected from the participants to have previous professional experience to be involved in the project. The project promotes participation of young people who have failed to find a job for a long period of time or have not chosen yet any specific professional field. The working language of the project will be Bulgarian and participants will attend a language course here in Ruse. Those who wish to participate in the project must be at the age from 18 to 30 years and prepare a CV (Europass format) and a cover letter. Participation in the EVS project will help volunteers to acquire various "soft skills" which will benefit them in their future careers. Young people are expected to acquire key competences such as enterprise; communication skills; active citizenship; language, social and presentation skills and others. The volunteers will also acquire specific knowledge and skills through their participation in the programs that Association BRTMI’s social services implement. As a result, at the end of the project volunteers will be knowledgeable to communicate with children and youth at risk from social exclusion. Some of the tasks that will be carried out by the participants are more administrative, including keeping records, online searching for useful information, working with social networks and sharing platforms, etc. Also, project participants will have the task to promote voluntary work among young people and the community as a whole. Together with local volunteers, participants will develop a strategy for the implementation of an informational campaign targeted primarily at young people to explain the benefits of voluntary service with a view to their active involvement in public life. The EVS volunteers will work with children and youth at risk from dropping out from school, beneficiaries of the Association BRTMI’s social services, and will get acquainted with the essentiality of social work and mentoring. Volunteers will develop programs dedicated to children and youth and their engagement in various activities such as sports, culture, art, foreign languages and more.
