Project "Podu taka" involves 15 youngsters, age 18-26, from various non-governmental organizations in Latgale. The goal of the project is to reveal the secrets of the traditional pottery of Latgale and promote the cooperation of the non-governmental organizations of the region.The project will take place in Rçzekne region as of 1 May 2011 to 1 October 2011. The basis of the project is more than 100 km long expedition in the woods and countryside, visiting potters of Latgale and participating in practical activities revealing the uniqueness of the local pottery. During the expedition the youngsters would sleep in tents, cook the food themselves, thereby discovering the special significance of the nature in preservation of the rural lifestyle. Informal education methods will be used in the project: pottery traditions will be revealed by youngsters themselves practically participating in all the activities - starting with pugging, creating pots and pottery kiln heating. As a result of the project a movie will be created, revealing the adventures of the youngsters during the expedition. Directors, script writers and actors will be the youngsters involved in the project.
