Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Thanks to the project, our school is going to be involved in, the participant will have the opportunity to familiarize herself with new teaching methods and techniques. What is more, she will have the chance to get some knowledge about the country she will visit, there is also a possibility to establish new contacts with foreign teachers or institutions which can result in developing other international projects. Moreover, taking part in such projects requires using a foreign language, consequently the participant is going to improve her language competence. The participant engaged in the project will be able to prepare students for their participation in other multicultural and international enterprises run by our school at present and in the future more effectively. In addition, participating in the course will introduce the awareness of technology and ICT in the classroom through the Multimedia lessons. The participant will also be able to experience the cultural heritage of Malta with its bilingual linguistic environment. The course will allow the teacher to use and improve language skills, which is undoubtedly essential in her daily work. It will also present a chance to exchange experience between the teachers, as a result of this lessons will become more attractive for students. Furthermore, the participant will remember it better thanks to the usage of authentic materials which can be introduced into the classroom. The knowledge acquired during the course will give the possibility to create positive attitude towards other cultures which is one of the program goal. In addition to that, the quality of teaching in the participant’s school will obviously increase. I strongly believe that taking part in such projects will encourage other teachers to join such projects in the future. The chemistry teacher is going to be involved in the project mentioned above. The participant who is a Chemistry teacher is engaged in Junior Eco Expert Project, which is an international project run by four countries ( Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary). This person has been working in school for about ten years and she speaks English at pre-intermediate level. An interactive communicative approach is applied, which will provide the participant with experiential learning. Input sessions will be in the form of hands‐on workshops or discussions for fluency work, and will involve brainstorming, analysis, problem‐solving, and role play, both in pair‐work & group work. The Participant will be asked to reflect on the activities, inviting discussion with regard to her own pedagogical knowledge & skills, teaching methods & contexts The participant will be actively involved in the sessions to maximize their learning and to experience activities from her learners’ point of view.
