The project is called “Developing linguistic and teaching competences of teachers in I LO in Wyszków.”The aims of the project:• developing English language skills of teachers of Maths and Sciences – necessary for introducing a bilingual course of study (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in our school;• fostering professional development of teachers of English through their participation in courses on Business English and British culture – necessary for introducing a new course of study with extended English and elements of business;• fostering professional development of a teacher of English who aims to become an ELT trainer – necessary for providing our teachers with constant professional and methodological support.The school enters seven teachers for the project. The first four are teachers of Maths, Biology, Physics and French who need to develop their English language skills, which they will need to conduct their lessons in English when the school opens a CLIL course of study and – for the teacher of French – organizing international exchange with the partner school in Estonia. The other three are teachers of English who need new skills: learning Business English, broadening the knowledge of British culture, and developing as an ELT trainer. All the skills mentioned above will be crucial in the school’s development in the next few years.Actions planned:1. Four teachers of Maths, Biology, Physics and French to take part in a two-week course “Language Improvement for Teachers” in the United Kingdom.2. One teacher of English to take part in a two-week course “Bringing British Culture to Life” in the United Kingdom.3. One teacher of English to take part in a two-week course “Teaching Business English” in the United Kingdom.4. One teacher of English to take part in a two-week course “Becoming a Teacher Trainer” in the United Kingdom.”Expected results:The actions planned will help the teachers:• develop their language skills and intercultural awareness;• improve their abilities and competences necessary for teaching and teaching learning.• allow them to spread good practices by sharing their newly acquired knowledge with other teachers.• enhance the school’s international cooperation.
