Podniesienie jakości pracy szkoły oraz jej rozwój organizacyjny poprzez wzrost kompetencji kadry nauczającej.
Start date: Jun 15, 2014, End date: Jun 14, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was realized in the Centre of Education in Zabrze, the school complex which comprises the following schools: Junior High School No. 11, Technical School No. 1 and the 9th High School. The main aim of the project was “Enhancing the quality of school activity and its organizational development via raising the competence of the teaching staff”, that is, upgrading linguistic skills of the teaching staff (so that they would be able to teach their subject in a foreign language), and ICT skills throughout the educational process. Moreover, our teachers were able to compare their teaching methodology with the methodologies of the same or similar subject taught by other participants in partner countries, which influenced the innovative approach towards teaching in our school, and in case of the career counselor it enabled to widen the scope of guidance and educational-vocational pre-orientation. Participation in the mobilities let the educationalists from our school prepare the comparative analysis of their curriculums as well as enlist methodological support, and, consequently, optimize the educational effects. The participants of the project were involved in trainings, courses and job shadowing. Trainings and courses were held in methodological and language centres ( from Germany, France, Great Britain and Malta ) whose reputation and experience in this scope was considerable. Observation of a school work within the confines of job shadowing was conducted in Istituto Tecnico Industraile "G.Vallauri" from Velletri, Italy. It is a school with a highly qualified staff, with a long tradition, well-organized, gaining high results in final exams, especially in sciences. Thanks to the mobilities of the Maths teacher, IT teacher and career counselor we exchanged good practices, we experienced new methods of teaching and assisting students while planning their future careers. The new knowledge gained in the partner school, equipped participants with the recent competences and skills necessary while dealing with the phenomenon of drop-out. There were seven teachers of humanities, Maths, IT, sciences and career counselor involved in the project (11 mobilities). Those teachers were equipped to teach using modern methods and tools, which positively influenced students’ educational results as well as their commitment in working for school. Teachers improved their linguistic competences utilizing them in other international projects and their careers. Maximized use of ICT tools during classes allowed to avoid routines and to inspire the application of the latest methods and solutions, already used in different countries. Participation in foreign trainings and courses enabled the participants to establish new contacts and gain broader perspective on teaching. It resulted in a successful institutional cooperation, uplifted self-esteem of our teachers, and above all, in application of innovative methods of working with student – the gifted one and the one in need of teacher’s assistance. The outcome of our attendance in the project is not only our organizational, methodological and technological advancement but also orienting all our actions towards supporting students in achieving optimum learning results at school, making the right life choices and accomplishing personal successes. Due to our participation in the mobilities abroad, we acquired a new European dimension and, what is more, our prestige in the local community enhanced.
